create roaming profile for every user can save lot of work, i had calculated it before that it saved us about 15% maintenance labor force. which means less IT employees.
the desktop support in the company have more free time since we applied roaming profile 2 years ago.

this month, we crecruited 2 new employees since 2 helpdesk staff has resigned, so that i need give them the instructions again.
there usually only 2 steps to roaming profile for new user.very simple, but to those existing users. an extra copy step need to be done which is optional.

step to create a roaming profile.

there are 3 software must be installed before use the https://corporbank.icbc.com.cn/ for the company.

1. the active X component. download it from: http://www.icbc.com.cn/download/dkq/icbc_netbank_client_controls.exe
2. the IC card driver, it depents what type you use, chose the corresponding driver from icbc download page.
3. the CSP tool , it depends too, usually Safesign or Net Pass.

since Firefox 3 beta 3, Firefox has removed the home button from the navigation toolbar and placed it to the bookmarks toolbar so that it will not display by default.

not sure why Mozilla doing so, anyway we can easily move it back to the navigation toolbar.
first, display both bookmarks toolbar and navigation toolbar on the Firefox by select them from the view menu.
second, click view ->toolbars -> customize, pop up the toolbar library.
last, drag it from the bookmarks toolbar to the library, then drag it to the navigation toolbar.

now the home button went back.

The vista system on my computer is very buggy, so that i was curious on the release date of Windows Vista service pack 1, now i found it on the Windows Update and installed it.

We can see from the file that Vista SP1 finished on Feb/13/2008, its discription tells that it has huge size: up to 600M, but the file for my computer was only 66MB, it various.

it was ok on the suse linux 10.0 server, but after upgrade to 10.0 sp1, the mysql client odbc configuration on a windows xp sp2 computer can't work. it does not say we need upgrade the client version. but simply denied the login.

this is quite confusing while i was suspicious if the logon account on the server was not correctly generated or privilege didn't assigned correctly. after 2 days of trouble shooting. now it can be connected.

since replaced the old file server with the new PowerEdge file server which has Suse Linux installed. 90% users can not use their network drive, yes we tried disconnect/reconnect/reboot the computer but the network driver still couldn't be mount.  the drive can be mounted by choosing the "connect using a different user name" , but after the computer reboot, the network driver remain inaccessible.

my laptop have 2GB memory, but very often after vista taken 60% of physical memory it become slow. and the Internet Explorer also crush after viewing webs for a while, the IE7 was fast at the beginning, after a while it become slow, and later it can not open new web pages anymore.
the same IE7 problem also happens on XP. while i heard Microsoft has releasing the SP1 for vista. i download and installed Service Pack 1, v744 RC1 and installed it several days ago.
