i got a new device, it happens occasionally when i searching for a new phone, i need a phone that can do GPS ,internet, play music and movie and with long battery time.

the market disappointed me, there is no such a module that met my needs. most of the new device comes out today with a small screen, 2.8 inch is the largest, but i am looking for a screen at least 4 inch that can do 640*480.

after 2 days search, i gave up, compare to these 2.8 inch ones, i find some interesting one that made by China vendor, there not many can be chosen,namely Amoi E860/870, Dopod, mio A701/A501.

first i gave up Amoi E860, which has good price, there internet users complaint it somewhat is not good at the voice. my coworker told me that his experience with several China brand phone, none good. so i gave it up. because it was designed in China.

dopod is a famous brand, it do not design the device but only OEM it, so i don't need to worry its quality, the design has international fame, such module also available world wide with deferent manufacture under different name. the problem is its price was 1/2 higher than A501.

finally i chose mio A501, it made in Taiwan, in my mind Taiwan product is better than China mainland both in quality and design. It has good price, and it has built in GPS system on a built in 1G disk. i tested the GPS when i on the shop, it works fine.
something that dissatisfact me is that the screen is too small. so that the words is not clearn enough, and the reaction of the system is not fast enough, even slower than my old phone. the battery can not last long enough as my old phone, it can not play some movie fluently. the GPRS can't work by default on my phone, i need reset it then it can be dialed-up for one time, anyway it has EDGE network that can browsing internet faster.
